Sarah Al Mehairi’s art investigates her presence within the elements of environments in flux, deconstructing and rebuilding them through a prism of fact and fiction, while crafting a language to explore these interrelationships. For Transitional Permanence, commissioned for Abu Dhabi Art’s "Beyond: Emerging Artists" 2022, Almehairi created an installation derived from discarded packaging. Throughout the process, containers are broken down, built, and reassembled as continuous iterations of themselves. As objects move from one medium to another, the artist questions whether there are boundaries to dimensionality? With the act of repetition, reproducibility has no end. Is there a beginning? How does one position themselves in a landscape of multiples? Through her investigative connections, the work becomes a constant reinvention of another
